Adobe After Effects Reel Breakdown

Title Card

Used the shape tool to create the bouncing circle and transform it into the letter C, then used the text tool to animate the rest of my name.

Clip 1: Rotoscoping Tool

Placed the middle ground text in between the foreground person's head and in front of the background sky with the rotoscoping tool.

Clip 2: Point Tracking Text

Mapped the path of the car in the footage, then created an arrow and text separately, then used the point tracking tool to make both assets follow the car's path.

Clip 3: Camera Tracking

Used the camera tracking tool to create a 3D map of the footage. I took a photo of the ninja turtles, isolated the photo, and placed it on a location within the 3D map.

Clip 4: 3D Moving Text

Created 2D text and arrow assets, which I converted to 3D objects. Then I created separate animations for the 3D objects. I used the masking tool to mask out the building to create the perception that they exist in the middle ground and could hide behind the building.

Clip 5: Planar Tracking

Used the planar tracking tool to create a moving plane that was tracked on the side of the vehicle. I then placed an image of Jeff Goldblum on the plane.

Long Form Editing

 Long Form Editing Breakdown

Please note: Clip is a short example from a longer video for a streaming website that I edited. Full video is 45 minutes.

Used footage from two different cameras to create one cohesive video, one wide angle camera and one handheld camera in the audience. Overall 8 source clips were provided.

Used visuals and audio from source clips to sync everything together without time codes or slates provided to me.

Matched the colors in the videos from two different types of cameras to each other.

Was instructed to favor the handheld camera and footage from the wide camera for transitions between songs, to accentuate moments that required wider views, and to hide moments when the handheld camera was obscured.
